Keep the tank free of aggressive fishes. For best results, have a tank that will hold at least 50 gallons of water per fish.

3. Temperature: Unlike tropical fish, Goldfish are cold water fish, and are capable of surviving in temperatures between 10 to 25 degrees Celsius. They are vulnerable to sudden changes in temperature, and could die from the shock of being immersed in significantly colder or warmer water than their bodies have gotten used to. Higher temperatures result in rapid growth, so you have to match the temperature with the food and water in the tank.
